Supply Chain & Logistics Recap

While it’s a busy time for Atlanta because it’s graduation season (our school year in Georgia and the south typically ends in May) we are busy following up on our spring leads from Ops Summit and MODEX. We’re collaborating with clients and other Crimson & Co offices to help clients in many areas of the business and we have a couple of papers we’re working on covering different topics.

What area in your company needs analysis or help? Please contact us and let us know.

  • Need LEAN training for yourself or your company? On June 22, 2018 in Atlanta, join Yoel Yohan from Crimson & Co North America and Peter J. Sherman with Riverwood Associates to learn LEAN. This is a great opportunity to learn and successfully apply LEAN principles and techniques to your career and company. To sign up for the next LEAN Boot Camp (June 22, 2018) in Atlanta, register here.
  • There is a limit. Amazon has begun to ban some shoppers for infractions such as returning too many items.  Consumers want liberal return policies and because of this, Amazon has been figuring out way to monitor them in order to stop shoppers from abusing the policies. We will see more from other retailers as Amazon puts more constraints in place.
  • Good news for Peak Season this year and beyond as an agreement has been reached between dockworkers and operators at U.S. East and Gulf Coast ports and the International Logshoremen’s Association. Ahead of the September 2018 deadline, the six-year agreement, announced Wednesday by the International Longshoremen’s Association and the United States Maritime Alliance Ltd., said the terms of the agreement were “unanimously approved” by 200 delegates of the ILA’s 65,000 maritime-worker membership.
